Elizabeth Diaz

Elizabeth (Liz) M. Diaz of Houston, TX passed away on 5/23/2020. Liz was born in El Campo on 4/17/1952. She is preceded in death by her parents Gavina M. Diaz and Jose B. Diaz. Also her sisters Felicita Rodriguez and Martha Castro.

She is survived by her daughter Sara Diaz, son Silvano Manzanarez, granddaughters Desirae Salinas, Elyssa Salinas, Gwendolyn Manzanarez and grandson Daven Salinas; sisters Josephine Sanchez , Ana Perez, Fidela Diaz, and brother and Jimmy Diaz.

Liz graduated from San Jacinto High School and attended classes at Tax Practitioner Institute. Liz was a proud employee of the Internal Revenue
Service for over 30 years as well. She was a fun loving sister, a dutiful daughter and a good mother. She loved cooking huge holiday meals and hosting. Liz loved to laugh, dance, music, and old time religious hymns.

She was a generous person always ready to help and give. She will be missed by her family, friends, and co-workers.


Visitation will be between 12 pm - 1 pm Thursday at Wheeler Funeral Home with funeral services beginning at 1 pm. Steve Saenz will be the officiant.  Burial will follow at LaColonia Cemetery.





Serving as pallbearers will be John A. Parra, Sr.,John Chris Quintero,C.J. Quintero,
Joseph Perez, Jaime Perez, Jonathan Fogal, Marco Bautista and Victor Villarreal
