Eugenio Gonzalez

Eugenio Gonzalez  passed from this earth on January 3, 2022 at the age of 89. He was born November 15, 1932 in Rio Hondo to the late Juan and Lupe Araguz Gonzalez. At the age of 15 he began working at Blue Creek Rice Farms for Frank and Richard Ramsey where he stayed a faithful employee working on the farm until his retirement.

He is survived by daughters, Norma Olguin and husband Sonny, Herlinda Del Agua and husband Leno, Sulema Perez and husband Ismeal; brothers, Juan Gonzalez, David Gonzalez; sisters, Gloria Martinez, Mary Lou Alaniz. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; Erica Sanchez and husband Norbert, Allen Olguin and wife Leslie, Valerie Corona and husband Adam, Sandy Gonzalez and husband Pedro, Andrew Del Agua and wife Savana, Marcella Estrada and Husband Joshua, Eugene Anthony Trevino and wife Corena,  Wendy Meldrum and husband Eric and Amanda Thorn and husband C T. and 22 great grandchildren; Joshua Gonzalez, Christian Gonzalez, Adriona Del Agua, Andrew Del Agua II, Adin Del Agua, Ava Del Agua, Abraham Del Agua, Addison Del Agua, Assyria Del Agua, Azalea Del Agua, Jeremiah Graham, Madison Sanchez, Elijah Sanchez, Jason Olguin, Marc Olguin, Makenzie Olguin, Izak Trevino, Michael Fowler, Jacklynn Fowler, Jonathon Trevino, Faith Thorn and Dylan Thorn. Eugenio was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dominga Guajardo Gonzalez; brother, Florentino Gonzalez and sister, Victoria Camacho.

Visitation begins at noon Saturday, February 5, 2022 at El Bethel Pentecostal Church, 404 Bruns St., El Campo, Tx., with funeral service beginning at 1:00 pm. with Pastor Randy Gonzales officiating. Burial will follow at La Colonia Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Allen Olguin, Sonny Olguin, Marc Olguin, Eugene Anthony Trevino, Andrew Del Agua and Leno Del Agua. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Moreno, Lupe Moreno and all of Eugenio’s great grandchildren.
