Florence Merline Ledwig

August 30, 1924 - February 27, 2025

Florence Merline Ledwig, 100, of New Taiton, went to her final resting place on February 27, 2025. Florence was born on August 30, 1924 to the late Frances Monroe and Bertha Clark. She was born in Van Zandt, Tx. In 1940, Florence met and married her first husband, Frank Brown. Together they had a daughter, Bobby Ruth Brown while they lived in Matagorda. A few short years later Frank passed away while in the army. On June 22, 1946 Florence married Alois Ledwig and they settled together in Taiton. Together they had 3 sons. 

Florence loved her family very dearly. She loved being able to cook for each and every one of them. It was not a holiday until she walked in carrying her lemon meringue pie or her famous dressing. 

Florence is preceded in death by her parents, Frances Monroe and Bertha Clark, first husband Frank Brown, daughter Bobby Ruth Brown Collins, second husband Alois Ledwig and son Gary. 

She is survived by sons -Larry and wife Kimberly, Alvin Ledwig; Grandchildren - Colt Ledwig and wife Lindsey, Misty Ledwig, Sierra Gray and husband Cody- great grandchildren; Madison, Skylar, Calli, Cash, Karson, Katie and Konlee.

Visitation begins at 1:30 pm on March 4, 2025 at Wheeler Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 2:30 followed by burial at Oaklawn Memorial Park.
