Henry Delgado, Sr.

Henry Delgado, Sr., 91, of El Campo, passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2023 in El Campo. He was born on February 29, 1932 in Goliad, Texas to Victor Delgado, Sr., and Cresencia Rojas Delgado.

Henry work for Albert Kresta Farms. He was known for being a character who always had a joke to tell. He enjoyed fishing, playing bingo, family events and dancing.

He was preceded in death by his wife; Mary E. Delgado, daughter; Mary Helen Delgado; parents; Victor and Crescencia Delgado; sisters, Ortensia Gusman, Lucy Estrada, Carolina Benavidez, Janie Contreras, Olga Marquez and Olivia Cantu; brothers;  Jessie and Benito Delgado.

He is survived by his son Henry Delgado, Jr. and wife Janie; grandchildren; Gabriel Delgado (Nancy), Irma Castillo (Ben) and Michael Delgado; 10 great grandchildren and 15 great great-grandchildren; brothers, Victor Delgado, Charlie Delgado and Leroy Delgado.

Rosary will be recited at 9:30 AM, on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at St. Robert’s Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM, with Father Augustine, officiating. Interment will follow in the Holy Cross Cemetery, El Campo, TX. Pallbearers will be Gabriel Delgado, Michael Delgado, Leo Trevino, Ben Castillo, Richard Benavidez, Oscar Rodriguez, and Steve Estrada. Honorary pallbearers are Danielle Trevino, Noah Rodriguez Oscar Rodriguez, Lee Trevino, Nathan Rodriguez, Victor Delgado, Jr., Margie Delgado and Felix Garcia, Jr., Kathryn Delgado and Michael Devon Delgado.

The family want to thank the personnel and staff at Paradigm at The Prairies Nursing Home for the care of their loved one.

Visitation begins at 9 am on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at St. Robert's Catholic Church with Rosary beginning at 9:30. Mass will begin at 10:00 am followed by burial at Holy Cross Memorial Park.
