Maria deJesus Vasquez

Maria Vasquez, age 78, of El Campo, TX, passed away on November 4, 2024. She was born on May 19, 1946, in New Gulf, TX, to the late Maria Concepcion Hererra and David Erevia.

She loved tending to her plants, dancing and traveling to Mexico were her favorite activities. She also enjoyed attending cook outs and garage sales, but who brought the most joy were her visits from her great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, David Erevia, Matilda Erevia, Antonio Erevia, sisters, Esther Garza, Estella Hernandez and Esperanza Cortez.

She is survived by her husband Leo Vasquez; sisters, Lucia Donjuan, Consuelo Arrendondo; brothers, Raymond Erevia, Angel Erevia; son, Tony Prado and wife Benita of Katy, TX; daughters, Josephina Garcia and husband Santos of El Campo, TX, Mary Garcia of El Campo, TX, Guadelupe Rodriguez of Port Lavaca, TX, Clara Jaimes and husband Jose Alberto of El Campo, TX, Patricia Prado of Dallas, TX , Elizabeth Vega and husband Rogelio of Arkansas, Lucia Reyna and husband Ismael of El Campo, TX, Flor Montes and husband Elpidio, Jr. of El Campo, TX; 45 grandchildren, 85 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors at Wheeler Funeral Home on Saturday, November 9, 2024, from 4 until 6 PM. Funeral service will be Sunday, November 10, 2024, at 1 PM at Wheeler Funeral Home followed by burial at LaColonia Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Tony Prado, Jerardo Olvera, Daniel Escamillia, Ismael Reyna, Elpidio Montes, Jr., Adrian Dae Tapia, Michael Reyna and Bonifacio Prado.
