Marvin Allen Botard, 83, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, in Hillje, Texas. He was born in Sublime, Texas to Magness and Hertha Boethel Botard. He served in the US Army and retired from the Texas Department of Transportation. He moved to the Wharton area about five years ago from Midland, Texas. Marvin enjoyed playing bingo and loved hunting deer.

He was preceded in death by his wife; Thelma Lucille; his parents; a sister, Joyce Schulze and a brother Bobby Botard.

Marvin is survived by his sister; Shirley Pyka of Hillje, Texas; nieces, Karen Schulz and husband James, of Wharton, Texas; Sharon Vanderbur and husband Steven of Canyon Lake, Texas and great nephews, other family members and friends.

Visitation will be from 2-4 PM, on Monday, July 22, 2024, at the Wheeler Funeral Home Chapel, 612 W Jackson, El Campo, Texas.

Burial will be in the Resthaven Memorial Park, Midland, Texas at 1 PM, Tuesday, July 23, 2024, under the direction of Wheeler Funeral Home.

In lieu of usual remembrances memorials may be made in Marvin's name the S P J S T Nursing Home, 248 Wisteria Lane, El Campo, Texas 77437.
