Mary Perez

Mary Albina Nafegar Perez peacefully passed away March 10, 2020. She was born August 26, 1936 in El Campo to the late Santana and Josephine Gonzales Nafegar. She is predeceased by her husband, Elias Perez, by her brothers Michael, Ruben, and Dave Nafegar, and by her grandson, Troy Schulze.

Mary is survived by her daughter Kathryn Jewel Schulze of Houston and her granddaughter, Morgan Schulze Bates of California. She is also survived by her twin brother, Joseph Nafegar and sisters, Lydia Martinez, Cecilia Castellanos, Nancy Zamarripa, Jozi Morgan, Bel Sanchez, Esther Reiner, and Teresa Szelc. In addition, Mary is survived by her stepdaughters Susie Banda and Norma Sosa.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Wheeler Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 2:00 pm, Friday March 13, 2020 at First Baptist Church of El Campo with Pastor Rick DuBroc officiating. Burial will follow at LaColonia Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Charles Mulholland, David Wayne Nafegar, Bill Nafegar, Rick Nafegar, Ralph Nafegar and Christian Bustamante. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jacob Reiner, Jeremy Morgan, and Anthony Morgan.
