Paula Resendez

Paula K. Sanchez Resendez, age 97 of El Campo, passed away peacefully in the presence of loved ones on Wednesday, October 4, 2017.

The eldest of nine children, Paula was born to Justo Sanchez and Eulalia Koehler Sanchez on the Lucas Ranch near Berclair, Tx. on March 18, 1920.

Her family moved to the Danevang area in the late 30's and that's where she met the love of her life, Frank Resendez, at a wedding dance. They were married October 23, 1943 at the Lutheran Church in Danevang.

Their 60 year reunion was blessed with nine children, Paula (Ricky Graves), Lydia (Abel Rodriguez), Ninfa (Guadalupe Gonzales), Frank, Jr. (Delores), Justo (Deanna), Daniel (Linda), Angelo (Sally), Lali (Jack Saucedo) and David (Dorothy). Paula was a tireless homemaker and devout Christian. She was very proud of all of her children and was fond of looking among us and saying "I'm the cause of all of this".

Paula is survived by her nine children and their spouses, 29 grandchildren, 78 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren and sisters Hortencia Richardson and Teresa Figirova. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, grandson Frankie Resendez, brothers Justo, Jr., Leno and Lazaro Sanchez, sisters Susie Coy, Anselma Ramirez and Ampora Acosta.

We will celebrate her life with a time of paying respects from 1:00 - 5:00 pm and visitation with the family from 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Friday, October 6, 2017 at Wheeler Funeral Home, Final goodbyes will be on Saturday, October 7 at 2:00 pm at The First Baptist Church of El Campo with burial at LaColonia Cemetery.
