WD Kilsby, 78, of Damon, Texas, passed away on March 6, 2024.
WD was born December 15, 1945, to Gilbert and Lorine Kilsby in Rosenberg. He grew up in Damon on the Mound. He joined the Air Force, taught camera repair and spent several years on burial detail at Lowery Air Force Base in Denver, Colorado. During his time at Lowery, he met and married his wife, Barbara, and they were married for 57 years. After the Air Force, they moved to Texas and he worked as copier repairman for Xerox. They had two children, Dale and LaTrisha. As a family of four, they returned to Colorado and built the first of 3 houses in their marriage. Eventually, returning to Texas and built their second house and a life in Sweeny, where they owned several businesses, including a sandwich shop, restaurant, and a muffler shop. He ended up right back where he started on Damon Mound, three doors down from his childhood home, where the third house was built. He enjoyed talking and telling stories, his big dogs and cast iron. He loved Jesus, his wife, his children and especially his grandchildren
WD was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Lorine Kilsby; brothers, La Trail Kilsby, John and Ray Kilsby; and his sister Sandra Matula. He is survived by his wife Barbara Kilsby; his son, Dale Kilsby and wife Sarah Kilsby of Austin, TX; daughter LaTrisha Kilsby Allen and husband Brent Allen of Damon TX; grandchildren Katrina Kilsby of Livermore, CA; Abby and Mayson Cook of Wild Peach, TX; Cody Kilsby of Austin TX; Annaliese Allen and Walker Allen of Damon, TX; sister Lilly Loraine; brother, John and an untold number of friends both life long and the ones he just met at any store he went into.
